Light-medium bodied, super-spicy, bunchy, beautiful Shiraz here from Sam Leyshon. This is fruit from all around NSW – from Gundagai, Hilltops and the Canberra District. Around one third of the fruit was fermented as whole bunches, the other two thirds fermented as whole berries. There’s a load of savoury character going on here, with plenty of spice from the stems and a lift of floral perfume, too. It’s a lively little wine that has a soft, billowy feel to it. Cool-climate Syrah with a bit of attitude, done just right.
